Railway offers concessions on ticket prices to 53 different categories

The reduction in ticket prices ranges from 25 per cent to 100 per cent

Concessions are available for patients, senior citizens, among others

✔️For students (General category) going to hometown and availing educational tours, Indian Railways offers 50 per cent concession in second and sleeper class. , Indian Railways offers 75 per cent concession in second and sleeper class for students who belong to Scheduled Tribe/Scheduled Category and are going to hometown and availing educational tours.

✔️Students of government schools in rural areas get 75 per cent concession in second class for study tour once in a year. Indian Railways also offers 75 per cent concession for girls of government schools in rural areas for national level medical, engineering, etc. entrance exam. Also, 50 per cent concession is available in second class for students appearing in main written examination conducted by UPSC and Central Staff Selection Commissions.

✔️Foreign students studying in India - traveling to attend camps/seminars organised by government of India and also visit to places of historical and other importance during vacations get 50 per cent concession in second and sleeper class.

✔️Research scholars up to the age of 35 years - for journeys in connection with research work can avail 50 per cent concession in second and sleeper class. Students and non-students participating in work camps can avail 25 per cent concession in second and sleeper class.

✔️Cadets and marine engineers apprentices undergoing navigational/ engineering training for mercantile marine - for travel between home and training ship are offered 50 per cent concession in second and sleeper class.

✔️Youths attending National Integration Camps of National Youth Project can avail 50 per cent concession in second and sleeper class. 40 per cent concession is available in second and sleeper class for youths attending national integration camps of Manav Uththan Sewa Samiti.

✔️Bharat scouts and guides are offered 50 per cent discount in second and sleeper class for scouting duty.

✔️Unemployed youths travelling to attend interview for job in public sector organisations and central and state government can avail 50 per cent concession in second and sleeper class. 100 per cent concession is available for such youths in second class. Indian Railways offers 50 per cent concession for such youths in sleeper class.

✔️Kisans and industrial labourers - for visit to agricultural/industrial exhibitions can avail 25 per cent concession in second and sleeper class. Kisans traveling by government sponsored special trains can avail 33 per cent concession in second and sleeper class

1.How do I apply for student concession?

The Student Concession tickets are permitted only in Sleeper Class (SL) and 2nd Sitting (2S)I tickets. Only I-tickets can be exchanged with student concession by presenting the I-ticket and the valid student concession order to the nearest Railway Reservation Office By going to the reservation office along with his journey cum reservation ticket and a request for exchanging the same with the student concession. He will surrender his original fully paid ticket and a student concession ticket with the revised fare (with same seat/berth number status) shall be issued to him. The difference of fare (paid and payable) less the clerk age charge of Rs. 20/- shall be refunded and shall be credited to his account electronically on the next day by IRCTC on receipt of refund file from the Railways.

2. Is student concession applicable for both E/I tickets?

The Student Concession tickets are permitted only in Sleeper Class (SL) and 2nd Sitting (2S). Presently it is not permitted in e-tickets.

3. How will I be refunded the difference of fare paid extra with respect to student concession?

The difference of fare (paid and payable) less the clerk age charge of Rs. 20/- shall be refunded and shall be credited to his account electronically on the next day by IRCTC on receipt of refund file from the Railways

प्रसिद्ध कामाख्या मंदिर

ભગવદ્ગોમંડલ ભગવદ્ગોમંડળ ની રચના ૨૪ ઓક્ટોબર ૧૮૬૫નાં રોજ ગોંડલનાં મહારાજા ઠાકોર સગરામજી બીજાનાં પુત્ર ભગવતસિંહજીએ કરી. તેમણે છવ્વીસ વર્ષના અથાગ સંશોધનને અંતે ગુજરાતી ભાષા અને ગુજરાતને ગૌરવ આપતો ગ્રંથ “ભગવદ્ગોમંડલ” રચ્યો, જેને ફક્ત શબ્દકોશ જ ન ગણતા, તેની ગણના જ્ઞાનકોશ તરીકે કરવામાં આવે છે. વ્યુત્પત્તિ ભગવદ્ગોમંડલ શબ્દની સંધી છૂટી પાડતા, ‘ભગવત્’ અને ‘ગોમંડલ’ એમ બે શબ્દો મળે છે. માટે આ શબ્દની વ્યુત્પત્તિ વિષે અનેક તર્ક છે, જેને આધારે તેનો અર્થ કંઇક આ રીતે કરી શકાય: ‘ભગવત્’ એટલે ભગવતસિંહજી, બૃહત્, સમૃદ્ધિવાન, જ્ઞાનભરપૂર, પ્રભુપ્રેરિત કે ગૌરવવંતુ. જ્યારે ‘ગોમંડલ’ એટલે શબ્દસંગ્રહ, શબ્દકોશ, જ્ઞાનકોશ, સરસ્વતીભંડાર કે ગોંડલ. આમ, ભગવદ્ગોમંડલ એટલે (૧) ભગવતસિંહજી શબ્દસંગ્રહ (૨) બૃહત શબ્દકોશ (૩) સમૃદ્ધિવાન જ્ઞાનકોશ (૪) જ્ઞાનભર્યો સરસ્વતી-ભંડાર (૫) પ્રભુપ્રેરિત વ્યાપક વાણી અને (૬) ગૌરવવંતું ગોંડલ. સંશોધન સર ભગવતસિંહજીએ ઈ.સ. ૧૯૧૫ની આસપાસ એવા ગુજરાતી શબ્દો શોધવાની શરૂઆત કરી કે જે કોઈપણ કોશમાં ન જોવા મળતા હોય, તેમના આ સંશોધન માટે તેમણે પ્રમાણભૂત ગ્રંથો, મહત્ત્વનાં પુસ્તકો, નવલકથાઓ, કાવ્યસંગ્રહો વ...

ઝરીયા મહાદેવ

કહેવાય છે કે મહાદેવ એકાંત પ્રિય છે. ભોળાનાથ હંમેશા સ્મશાન કે વેરાન જગ્યાએ ધ્યાન મગ્ન રહેવાનું પસંદ કરે છે. આવી જ એક વેરાન જગ્યા કે જ્યાં થાય છે સ્વયંભૂ શિવલિંગ પર બારેમાસ અવિરત જળાભિષેક. તો આવો જાણીએ ક્યાં આવેલુ છે આ મંદિર . કોઈ સ્તોત્ર ન હોવા છતાં અવિરત પાણી ઝરવાનું શુ છે રહસ્ય? આજે આપણે વાત કરવાના છીએ ચોટીલાથી આશરે ૧૫ કિમિ દૂર થાનગઢ રોડ પર આવેલ પૌરાણિક સ્વયંભૂ મંદિર ઝરીયા મહાદેવની. આ મંદિર સુરેન્દ્રનગરથી અંદાજે ૬૮ કિમિ દૂર આ અલૌકિક મંદિર આવેલું છે. અહીં બારેમાસ શ્રદ્ધાળુઓ દર્શન માટે આવે છે.તેમાંય ખાસ શ્રાવણ મહિનામાં તો ભક્તોનો મેળાવડો જામે છે. અહીં બારેમાસ પથ્થરની એક શીલમાંથી અવિરત પાણી ઝરતું હોવાથી આ રમણીય મંદિરનું નામ ઝરીયા મહાદેવ પડ્યું હોવાનું મનાય છે. બારવર્ષના અજ્ઞાતવાસ દરમિયાન પાંડવોએ અહીંની પાવન ભૂમિ પર વસવાટ કર્યો હતો. એટલે પાંડવોના સમયનું આ મંદિર છે તેવું પણ માનવામાં આવે છે. મંદિરના ગર્ભગૃહમાં પથ્થરની એક મોટી શીલા નીચે સ્વયંભૂ મહાદેવ બિરાજમાન છે. શીલમાંથી ટપકતું પાણી આગળના એક કુંડમાં જમા થાય છે. જેને ભાવિકો પ્રસાદ તરીકે પીવે છે. ગુફામાં પ્રવેશતાની સાથે જાણે ઠંડુ બરફ જ...

આ પંક્તિઓ ખૂબ જ ઊંડી, પ્રેરણાદાયી અને સમાજ માટે અરીસો બતાવનારી છે. સમાજ પ્રત્યેની આપણી જવાબદારી શું છે, તે આ ચાર લીટીઓમાં ખૂબ જ સુંદર રીતે સમજાવવામાં આવ્યું છે: લડો સમાજ માટે: જો તમારામાં અન્યાય સામે લડવાની તાકાત હોય, તો આગળ આવીને લડો. લડી ના શકો તો બોલો: જો કોઈ કારણસર મેદાનમાં આવીને લડી ન શકો, તો અન્યાય સામે અવાજ ઉઠાવો, તમારો વિરોધ નોંધાવો. બોલી ના શકો તો લખો: જો અવાજ ઉઠાવવામાં પણ સંકોચ કે ડર હોય, તો તમારી કલમ ઉપાડો. લખાણ પણ મોટું પરિવર્તન લાવી શકે છે. હિંમત ના તોડો: અને જો તમે આ ત્રણેય વસ્તુ કરવા સક્ષમ નથી, તો કંઈ નહીં... પણ જે લોકો સમાજ સુધારવા માટે લડી રહ્યા છે, બોલી રહ્યા છે કે લખી રહ્યા છે, તેમની હિંમત ક્યારેય ન તોડો. તેમનો પગ ખેંચવાને બદલે તેમને સાથ આપો અથવા મૌન રહીને પણ તેમનું મનોબળ વધારો. એકતા, સેવા અને સમર્પણની ભાવના સાથેનો આ સંદેશ ખરેખર દરેક વ્યક્તિએ પોતાના જીવનમાં ઉતારવા જેવો છે. ખૂબ જ સુંદર વિચાર!
